Jaya is a Chartered Accountant from India with a Master's in Applied Finance from Singapore Management Univeristy. She built her career over the past 12 years in Corporate Finance & Investment Banking  across Singapore and Europe. She learnt and pursued a zero-waste lifestyle and her sustainable practices had a working system and way of life. She understood how sustainable practice works at scale, and ESG stopped being a reporting requirement in boardrooms and at home. 

Moving to Houston brought a different kind of scrutiny. After years in places where composting and reusables were normal, she was struck by how much single-use plastic passes through an ordinary American day, and by how few compostable alternatives were genuinely available, affordable or honestly certified.

She founded Planet Eco Corp with a single mission: to reduce plastic waste and the harmful effects of microplastics to us, our environment and our sea-life & wildlife.

She grew up in an Indian household where nothing was thrown away without a second use. Clothing was passed down and repurposed, banana leaves used for serving meals when steel plates were insufficient, newspapers became wrapping and lining, takeout containers lived a second life in the kitchen/wardrobe.

Planet Eco's product is upcycled from agri-waste that is otherwise burnt/dumped, certified and PFAS-free, sourced from vetted manufacturers and priced so that switching away from plastic is a practical business decision, not a compromise. When we upcycle & repurpose agri-waste to replace single-use plastics, we not only produce zero-waste products, we general less waste.

Her hope is that Americans and the generations after them inherit less plastic than we live with today and more wealth is created from waste we generate for a truly circular economy.
